Silkyn Electronics, LLC was born from a strong desire to quit ”working for the man”. For many years I worked for big corporations, one of which was Gibson, managing the development of new products. Throughout those years I maintained my love of music and musical gear, particularly guitar amplifiers. When I finally had my fill of the corporate life and was ready to strike out on my own, I knew I needed to focus on something I was passionate about.

Believe it or not, the choice to build guitar amps was not an easy one. There are a lot of great amps out there. I’ve played a lot of them and lusted after many others I couldn’t afford. For Silkyn to have any chance of success, I knew I had to deliver high quality amps at reasonable prices and with unmatched customer service.

What finally made the decision for me was a sudden realization that most the amps out there, even the really good ones, are pretty boring looking. If I buy an electric guitar, for instance, with stunning visual appeal, I buy it because it expresses my personal style. I want whatever amp I buy to do that, too. Mono-colored boxes just don’t cut it for me. I want a great sounding amp that’s got some flair.

So that’s what we’re doing at Silkyn. First and foremost we insist on great tone and quality manufacturing. Then we spice things up with some visual appeal. Finally, since even the best amps falter on occasion, when you have a problem with a Silkyn amp you call me. I take care of it personally, quickly, and with as little inconvenience to you as possible.
